Sanitizing Christmas in speech
School students across our land are free to thank anyone they wish while
celebrating Thanksgiving so long as it is not GOD.
Even Christmas is being sanitized where Santa Claus is okay, but not
Jesus Christ. “Jingle Bells” is okay, but not “Silent Night”.
One Kansas newspaper recently published an apology for referring to a
“Christmas tree” rather than a “Community tree” during a recent
“Winterfest” celebration in downtown Wichita.
Most of this stuff comes from a small minority of pagan, speech-code
fascists, atheists and other agnostic free thinkers.
I say “fooey” to these guys, and “Merry Christmas” to them and all of
our Tribune neighbors.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting
the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or
the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for
a redress of grievances."
